Inv. T.14.002

Riding whip with wooden handle depicting a divinity of rounded square form. Being done the importance of horses in the Timorese socio-economic organisation, the whip may have referred to the higher status or function of its owner, or related to a specific use. The lash is made out of leather strips woven together. This is a beautiful and rare example, since very few handles were decorated with such figures.
